Commercial Pilot • CFII • UX Design Leader
Design leader at Broadcom designing intuitive enterprise software for security operations and operational efficiency. Commercial pilot and flight instructor with 1500+ hours. Specializing in designing systems where every decision matters and every interface counts.
I've spent my career at the intersection of human behavior and technology, designing enterprise software that allows people to do complex things in an intuitive way. From EMC Corporation to MathWorks to CA Technologies and now Broadcom, I've led design teams and crafted experiences that simplify complexity in cybersecurity, data storage, and computational tools.
But there's more to life than designing great products. As a Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor with over 1,500 hours, I've loved learning to become the best pilot I can be. From earning a seaplane rating to getting a tailwheel endorsement to flying for charity organizations, I've discovered that the principles of great UX apply just as well at 10,000 feet. Whether I'm flying my Diamond DA40 around New England or designing enterprise security products, it all comes down to clarity, precision, and never losing sight of the human element.
"Great design isn't about making things look good—it's about making complex things feel effortless. Whether I'm designing a dashboard or planning a flight, the principle is the same: clarity, purpose, and attention to detail."

Aviation has been my constant companion in my life since earning my pilot's license at 18. After spending my 20s as a flight instructor, I dove into the dot-com era and started designing software—a choice I do not regret. But flying remained part of my life, even as I raised a family and built a career in technology. I flew when I could, always dreaming of the day I'd own my own airplane and fly as a commercial pilot. Today, flying my Diamond DA40 and working towards my ATP, I discovered I didn't have to choose between my two passions after all.
What a year 2025 was for aviation! I finally took the plunge and earned my seaplane rating with the incredible folks at Goodspeed Seaplane. If you love flying low and slow, seaplane training is an absolute blast—so much so that I immediately returned for my tailwheel endorsement. In the DA40, I continued my regular pilgrimages to Block Island, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard, while feeding my mountain flying bug with flights to Mount Washington and up to Stowe and Rutland, where I combined my love of flying with some fantastic mountain biking.
As a Commercial Pilot and Certified Flight Instructor with over 1,500 hours, flying isn't just a hobby—it's a masterclass in human factors, decision-making, and the critical importance of clear, actionable information. Whether I'm flying to the Vineyard for a beach day or navigating complex airspace, every flight reinforces these lessons:
In aviation, clarity is about understanding the full picture—weather, airspace, instruments, intentions. In design, it means giving users that same confidence and reducing uncertainty at every step.
Pilots are trained to be exact: airspeed, altitude, checklists, procedures. Good UX has that same rigor—intentional decisions, purposeful interactions, and no wasted motion.
Aircraft are built around real human capabilities and limitations. Great products should be, too. Whether in a cockpit or an app, empathy and usability are what keep people safe, confident, and in control.

"The most effective designs—whether for software or aircraft—share one thing: they make the complex feel simple, giving users confidence to focus on what matters most."
Whether you're looking for a UX designer who understands enterprise complexity, or you just want to talk aviation, I'd love to hear from you.
